June 12, 2000 : Manny Fernandez and Brad Lukowich traded to the Minnesota Wild for a third round selection in the 2000 NHL Entry Draft and fourth round selection in 2002
June 24, 2000 : Stars selected goalie Dan Ellis from Omaha, USHL, in the 2nd round (60th overall) in the 2000 NHL Entry Draft
July 12, 2000 : Rick Tabaracci acquired from the Columbus Blue jackets as a free agent
October 31, 2000 : Dallas Stars goaltender Ed Belfour has plead guilty to misdemeanor charge of resisting arrest following a March scuffle with a security guard at an upscale hotel. Belfour also apologized for his actions.
Dallas County Criminal Court Judge sentenced Belfour to two years' probation
and a $3,000 fine. He also ordered Belfour to visit two area high schools
within the next two years to warn students about alcohol abuse.

January 6, 2001 : The Dallas Stars recalled goaltender Rick Tabaracci from the Utah Grizzlies of the IHL to serve as Marty Turco's backup after Ed Belfour left the team following a dispute with coach Ken Hitchcock.
January 7, 2001 : The Dallas Stars suspended goaltender Ed Belfour indefinitely.
January 9, 2001 : The Dallas Stars lift Belfour' suspension and assigned goaltender Rick Tabaracci to the Utha Grizzlies of the IHL
