During the 1990-991 season, Fitzpatrick was diagnosed with Eosinophilic Myalgia Syndrome, a rare illness brought on after a reaction to L-Trytophan, an ingredient in a vitamin supplement. It caused severe muscle cramps, chronic fatigue and joint pain, among other problems ... Holds Islanders goaltending record for season playoffs most penalty minutes.
